Posted on July 24, 2023

Whether it be for a birthday gift, Father's Day, or simply because your dad or loved one loves to look after themselves, our simple moisturising and hydrating beard balm recipe is quick and simple to make.

What is Beard Balm?

Beard Balm acts as a leave in conditioner, it softens, styles and protects the beard hair. It locks in the moisture and helps boost hair growth.

Equipment:
Scales
Spoon

Ingredients:
Beeswax - 24gm (yellow, white)
Shea Butter – 36gm (or cocoa, mango, kokum)
Argan Oil – 24gm (or hemp, almond, jojoba, avocado, grapeseed, rosehip)
Rosewood Essential Oil – 1-10 drops (cedarwood, clove, lavender, citrus)
Method:
  • Using a plastic pouring pot (or you could use a double boiler), melt the beeswax in the microwave until almost melted, in short 30 second bursts, stirring after each time. Once the wax is almost melted, add in your shea butter. Continue melting the two ingredients in 30 second bursts until they are both melted and combined.

  • Add in your carrier oil. We are using Argan Oil but you can use differenttypes as they each have different skin benefits. As you pour in the oil, you may notice the melted shea and beeswax mixture slightly harden, simply remelt in the microwave. Mix well.

  • Add in your essential oil of choice and stir well.
  • Once all your ingredients are well combined, you can pour your beard balm into an Aluminium Screw Top Tin, let it cool and then package up!
