Frequently Asked Questions

What is the salt base made from?

The base is a mix of Epsom salt and pink Himalayan salt, using two cups of Epsom to one cup of pink Himalayan, with dried lavender buds stirred through at the end.

Can I use a different carrier oil?

Yes. You can choose from apricot, sweet almond, jojoba, camellia, rosehip or grape seed oil, using around one tablespoon. Pick whichever suits your skin or what you already have on hand.

How much lavender essential oil should I add?

Up to 30 drops. Start lower and build up if you prefer a gentler scent, since you can always add more but cannot take it back out once it is mixed through.

Do I have to add the bicarb soda?

No, it is an optional extra. Adding half a cup of sodium bicarbonate gives soft skin and a little fizz in the water, but the soak still works well without it.

How do I use the finished bath soak?

Store it in your 250ml salt jars, then add a scoop to a hot bath whenever you want to unwind and let it dissolve as you relax.
