Mica is not recommended for use in candles. Our range of synthetic micas are cosmetic grade and can be used for eye shadows, nails, soaps and cosmetic products. They are ethically sourced from a reputable, certified company. Made of mica platelets coated with titanium dioxide, our colours are free of solvents and heavy metals. The micas do not contain any nano particals. They comply to EU, US, Japanese regulations for cosmetics and are approved by FDA. Cosmetic grade Mica is used to add pearlescent sheen, metallic shimmer or iridescence to cosmetics, bath & body products, candle melts and many more. Mica has a high effective quality and is prized for it's shimmery pearlescent sheen. Mica pigment powder reflect their effects like natural pearls, creating extraordinary optical effects ranging from a fine-grained luster to a bold silvery-white sparkle. Cosmetic Grade Mica No animal testing Particle Size: 10-60 m.
Are these micas vegan and cruelty free?
Yes. All cosmetic grade micas sold are vegan friendly and have not been tested on animals.
What effects can micas create in products?
Micas can produce soft pearlescent tones, bold shimmers, iridescent highlights, and metallic effects depending on the colour and particle size.
Will mica affect the burn of my candle?
Mica can clog wicks if used in large amounts. For best results, use sparingly or apply mica to the surface or outer design rather than mixing heavily into the wax.
How much mica should I use in candles?
A very small amount goes a long way. Start with a light dusting or minimal inclusion and test burn before scaling up production.
Do micas fade over time?
High-quality cosmetic grade micas are colour stable and resistant to fading under normal use and storage conditions.
