Classes - Make your own shampoo

Learn to make your own shampoo.

This class is designed and formulated by very successful chemist Bridget Van Herk. 
Bridget is passionate about passing on her love of cosmetic chemistry and all things beauty and can help you create products that you will love.
She has a degree in Applied Chemistry and postgraduate qualifications in Advanced Cosmetics Formulating.  Bridget is also the formulator for the cosmetic chain of stores in Western Australia called Bridget Black as well as other well known hair care and skin care brands.

PURPOSE: In this in-depth class you will learn from an expert on how to formulate and make your own shampoo using raw ingredients, not pre made bases.
Making your own product takes a bit more time and a whole lot of knowledge but is well worth it in the end.

GAIN: Formulation for a shampoo base
           Take home the shampoo  you make plus enough ingredients to make 1 - 2 litres more
           Knowledge of various surfactants and their uses
           Knowledge of all raw materials used in your shampoo making
           Knowledge of utensils and machinery used

You will receive a 30 page information booklet  to compliment the course and the formulation for your shampoo so you can remake it at home.  Take home what you make on the day, plus enough ingredients to make a further 1 to 2 litres.

Body Cream Course (Emulsions workshop #1)

Making your own body cream has never been easier.

In this workshop you will make your own body cream base to take home, along with the knowledge to allow you to manufacture more on your own at home.

Our body care classes are run by a fully qualified chemist who has developed and formulated her own retail brand and has over 20 years of experience.
No prior knowledge is necessary. 

Learn to make a basic nourishing body cream from scratch. Learn about  emollients, conditioning agents and the importance of using the correct ingredients. Receive a comprehensive booklet that will educate you on the specifics of body cream and the right ingredients for you.

Make around 500gms of body cream base on the day.

Hair Conditioner Course (Emulsions workshop #2)

Following on from our successful shampoo class, Aussie Candle Supplies is proud to present our Hair Conditioning course.

In order to complete this workshop you must have completed the 'Emulsions' workshop first.

Our body care classes are run by a fully qualified chemist who has developed and formulated her own retail brand and has over 20 years of experience.
No prior knowledge is necessary so if you did not complete the shampoo course you can still participate in this one.

Learn to make a basic conditioner from scratch. Learn about surfactants, emollients, conditioning agents and the importance of using the correct ingredients. Receive a comprehensive booklet that will educate you on the specifics of hair conditioner, the specific ingredients and the processes used.

Make around 1 litre of conditioner on the day with enough ingredients to take home and formulate another 1-2 litres.
